Title: Topics From the MSRI Summer School on Automorphic Forms and the Langlands Program
Abstract: This series of
several seminar talks will cover material I learned during my time at
the MSRI summer school on automorphic forms and the Langlands
program. This will include subject matter taught at the summer
school, as well as interesting tangential topics I learned about
independently during my time there. By request, I will spend at
least the first meeting introducing p-adic numbers, and basic analytic
and algebraic results concerning them. I later plan to discuss
topics with an aim toward providing an understanding of the broad goals
of the Langlands program, where progress currently stands, and how some
results are proven.
