Inland Northwest Math Experience (IN ME) for Middle School Students

2006-11-02

8:30am - 2:00pm on the WSU Pullman Campus

Dr. Kimberly Vincent

INLAND NORTHWEST MATH EXPERIENCE - It’s IN ME…is it in YOU?

IN ME is a day of cooperative mathematics activities for middle school students. The main purposes of IN ME are to promote interest in mathematics, pique curiosity and intrigue about the world and mathematics, and to acquaint students with the mathematics program at WSU. IN ME features activities in which the students will be actively doing mathematics, so come prepared to think, laugh and work together. The events include collaboration with mathematics preservice teachers at WSU and integration of technology while doing mathematics.

The Fourth Annual IN ME for Middle School students will be held Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Washington State University, Pullman Campus (a schedule with room locations will be mailed to registered participating teachers). Please plan on arriving no later than 8:30 a.m. (the room will be open at 8:00 for early arrivals) for our welcoming address; the last activity will end at 2 p.m. We would appreciate all arriving on time.

“Overall, I thought it was a great experience for those students attending. It also gave me ideas to think about in my own classroom. Great Job!” ---Guest Teacher, ‘05

DEADLINE: The deadline for registration is October 16, 2006. Confirmation will be sent via email. We are limited to 100 students so registration is on first come first serve basis—we filled up very quickly last year so send in your forms soon.
