Change Your Email Address to "yourname@math.wsu.edu"
All email addresses in the Math Department should follow the pattern
"myname@math.wsu.edu" to eliminate any machine name in the address. By
doing this, security risks are reduced and the domain name is accurately
reflected.
The following information provides "how-to" instructions to change
your email address on different mail programs such as Pine, Eudora, Netscape
and Outlook.
Pine 4.21 and 3.96
- At the main menu type S (for setup).
- At the "Choose a setup task from the menu below:" prompt, type C (for
config).
- Press the down arrow key to highlight the line that says user-domain.
- Type C (to change the value).
- Enter math.wsu.edu after the "Change field user-domain value:" prompt.
- Press enter.
- Press E (to exit setup).
- Type Y after the "Commit Changes ("Yes" replaces settings "No" abandons
changes)?" prompt.
- You are now back at the the main menu and the change has been made.
Eudora 4.1
- From the Tools menu, select Options.
- Click the "Getting Started" icon. The Getting Started options window will
be displayed.
- In the "Return Address:" box, type yourname@math.wsu.edu.
- You're done.
Netscape 4.72
- Click on "Edit".
- Click on "Preferences".
- Click on the arrow next to "Mail and Newsgroups".
- Click on "Identity".
- In the "Email address:" box, type yourname@math.wsu.edu.
- Press ok.
Outlook
- Click on "Tools".
- Click on "Services".
- Click on "Internet Mail".
- Click on "Properties".
- At the "Email Address:" prompt, type yourname@math.wsu.edu.
