Forward your email

You may forward your math department email to another account. This might be helpful if you will be out of town during semester break or gone in the summer.

1. Create a .forward file in your home directory. This would be /usr1/your_login_name/.forward
2. Inside the .forward file, type the complete email address that you would like your email forwarded to.

You will need to remember to delete the email address from the .forward file when you return to Pullman.

Forward your email but keep a copy of it in your math department email program

The above method forwards all your email to another account and a copy of your email is not kept in the math department. To keep a copy, follow the instructions below.

1. Create a .forward file in your home directory. This would be /usr1/your_login_name/.forward
2. Inside the .forward file, type the following (this example uses a login name of twagoner and an email address to which twagoner's email should be forwarded. It will keep email in twagoner's department email program, as well as send a copy to twagoner's hotmail email account).

   \twagoner,(no space after this comma) twagoner123@hotmail.com
