Linear Programming Software

LPAssitant is available as a software supplement for the Thie and Keogh "Introduction to Mathematical Programming and Game Theory" text.
For further information, go to the LPAssistant Website, where there is also a link for documentation.. LPAssistant is a Java program,
which might require installation of Java on your computer.

Matlab is availabile with limited online access from the MyMath website; after login, use "Goto" to follow the "Software" link and select Matlab.
Here are some Matlab example commands for working with a linear program:
  Maximize 1.35A + 4.2B + 3.55C, subject to A/3 + 2B/3 + C ≤ 150, 5A/3 + 4B + C ≤ 340, with A,B,C ≥ 0.
Matlab commands for finding the solution:
  A = [1/3 2/3 1; 5/3 4 1; -eye(3)]; b = [ 150; 340; 0; 0; 0];
  [x,fv] = linprog( -[1.35; 4.2; 3.55], A, b ); disp([ -fv x' ])

Output is:" 637 8.5265e-14 57 112", which shows a maximum of 637 at A=0, B=57 and C=112.
