Two Mathematics Seniors' Defend Honors Theses

Eleanor Grace Jones

Mathematics major and senior, Eleanor Grace Jones, has defended her Honors thesis. Grace's thesis is titled, "Understanding Cryptosporidium Infections in Calves." For her thesis work she was nominated for "Pass with Distinction." Her advisor is Dr. Sergey Lapin. Her evaluator is Dr. Zambrsiki from the Paul Allen School of Global Animal Health. Upon graduation, she will work as an actuarial intern for six months at Symetra, a dynamic and growing financial services company based in Bellevue, Washington, with offices across the country.

Brittney Martin

Mathematics major and senior, Brittney Martin, has successfully defended her Honor's thesis, as well. Her advisor is Dr. Lynn Schreyer and Dr. Sergey Lapin is her evaluator. The title of her thesis is, "Towards a Mathematical Model of Refugee Movement."
