Mathematics Analysis Seminar: "Induced Dimension Reduction"

2014-04-23

4:10 pm, 5W

Hossein Noorazar

Peter Sonneveld noticed a particular behavior in some Krylov solvers. He used this ingredient to introduce a new solver, namely, Induced Dimension Reduction (IDR). Here, residuals are enforced to to be in spaces of decreasing dimension. IDR will lead us to generalized Hessenberg decomposition, which will be used to find eigenvalues. Each Krylov solver, needs to be restarted. So, restarting will be part of the talk as well.
