Applied Math Seminar: Estimating Dynamic Models With Basis Function Collocation

3:15 PM; Neill Hall 3W

Alan Genz

Abstract: A numerical solution method will be described for a nonlinear integral equation which is used to model some dynamic economics problems. The method will use a basis function expansion for a transformed value function, combined with collocation. This method reduces the original problem to an approximate problem which is a system of nonlinear equations.
