Applied Math Seminar: On Demographic Heterogeneity and Persistence

ABSTRACT: We consider the question of how demographic heterogeneity in genotypes affects the persistence of such a population. We use a branching process model to help get an idea of these effects. In this talk we will introduce this question and the branching process model approach, discuss the various setups explored using this model, and present some results.

Various disciplines dealing with spatial relationships and reasoning will be examined. We will discuss what spatial reasoning is and how to improve students' spatial reasoning.
