Abstract: Let T ={T(t)}t 0 be a strongly continuous semigroup on a Banach space X and A its infinitesimal generator. We will prove that T is exponentially stable if and only if there exists p in [1, infinity) such that the Sobolev space W^0_p,1(R+, X)is admissible to a certain linear system \Sigma(A, I, I). Applications are also given for the representation of some linear systems by transfer functions.
